Arrow Debian stable kernel

Hi all,

Just curious if anyone could explain why Debian and Slackware have not moved to a 2.6 series kernel yet for stable when so many others have? Is there still that many issues or are they just waiting until 2.6 is not the latest kernel?

Thanks, m!

No I think you misunderstood me, my question is not how to get the 2.6 kernel... but why Debian stable is still at 2.4 and not 2.6.

thanks, m!

Yeah, I misunderstood it, sorry.
I don't know the reason for a fact, but both slackware and debian users expect a robust install and the 2.4 series is more mature than 2.6. Just compare changelogs of 2.4.31 and 2.6.13 for instance.
