I setup a new 2.6.8 kernel but nothing change!

I transfer some domain to this server and now sometimes the load
rise 1 or more.

There is no malware, no rootkit, nothing!

It made me crazy!
Please help!

I would use atop and record for 10 hours.

Changing the kernel doesn't do much because there are a lot of chances that its in user space (crontab or anacron or ??)

Is it a default sarge install?

I'm not sure, but didn't we check that already? Well, anyway, look for files cron.* in /etc. And as far as I can make sure about that on my box, Debian Sarge doesn't use anacron as a standard (I didn't change anything in that respect, and it's not there on my Debian system) but rather cron.

Those "drops" seem dubious to me (what can cause that?) - how about a (little!) quote out of one of those logs?
