Debian LIVE DVD/USB with SKYPE ?!

Hi,

I had to find and burn quite fast a Debian Live CDROM/DVD. I used this one:
http://live.debian.net/cdimage/relea...op+nonfree.iso

It is quite sufficient for websurf, little bit of office,... Nice set of applis.

I would like to find a Live Debian one with Skype already installed on it.

Would you know any? I could unfortunately not find anything with Skype installed. I remember that Knoppix (*or like) had a Skype on the cdrom (many years ago).

I would simply need a X11 (ideally fluxbox) with Skype installed. Otherwise, if not existing, it will take me one-two hours to create and make a custom one

Thank you in advance!

Best Regards
Pat

Skype is proprietary "closed source" software of Microsoft. There will never, ever be an official Debian release featuring Skype.

https://wiki.debian.org/skype

I recommend you read Debian Live documentation and learn how to make your own Live CD featuring Skype (for your own personal use, since I do not think you have Microsoft's permission to be a Skype re-distributor).

In the past, I had a cdrom that had Skype on it. It was a "non-free" release. I cant recall which distro it was.

I have a self-made usb pendrive (Debian) with a nice set of applications, including Skype, for me only. But, I forgot my stick currently.

Many live installs could add in apps while in live mode. The changes would be lost on re-boot. This assume you either have swap mounted or enough ram. example https://www.kubuntuforums.net/showth...ype-on-Live-CD

Remastersys might be used.

I quickly remade a new Live CD of Wheezy. It took 30 min....
So now, I can enjoy Skype and a nice fluxboxed Debian LiveCD.

I am completely amazed that hplip is so heavy. Look pcmanfm, 100-150mb for a simple browser Kinda a joke, no?

One could for instance add it to non-free, such as:
firmware-realtek
in: deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian wheezy main non-free
