During the weekend I guess I'll try it in the target machine. |
No. The Live DVD doesn't come up with my target machine.
The same error as before with the T400-tested DVD. Why is it that Debian always hates my HW? |

I've tried 4 times to go back to that page and for whatever the reason my brower is not responsing Mint website must be overly busy- Glad I wrote down the instructions: Try select start Debian ('compatibility mode') Hit the Tab Key to allow you to edit the boot options. Hit the backspace key twice (x2) to remove the 2 --hyphens Next type nonmodeset Hit Enter This should allow you to be able to install Debian Is this a laptop and if so is it a Dell? Sony? Toshiba? or a Lenovo? So I can look it up- |
Ztcoracat, thanks for the effort, but I decided to go with Linux Mint.
It's running quite smoothly now. My system is a desktop with GA-B75M-D3H MoBo and i3 processor. FreeBSD and PC-BSD didn't like my harware any better. I tried to put FreeBSD in for about a week wit lots of problems. I just got tired of fighting. Installing Mint took, I guess, about an hour or so. (I still have some warm feelings towards Debian.) Thanks to all the other people too that participated helping me. |

I have 3 other machines with Linux Mint, only as dual boot with Windows Vista or Windows 7. (Joined: Sat Sep 26, 2009 8:13 pm) :-) I'm also registered in http://forums.debian.net Also as turboscrew (Joined: 2009-03-23 09:17). I've had Debian in 3 different machines too. |
Good; registration or should I say being registered to certain Linux groups does have it's privileges-;)
Sort of like having a 'Mastercard'. |
