debian kernel backport

I have an old laptop running debian-7.6.0-i386. (Debian Stable) The kernel for that distribution is 3.2.0-4-686-pae However, my USB aircard is not supported by kernel 3.2, but is supported by the latest kernel, 3.14.12-1.
I did an "apt-get search linux-image", but that does not list a kernel > 3.2.
Is there a way to upgrade the kernel on my old (686) laptop? The poor thing is slow by today's standards, but is satisfactory for my needs.

That took five minutes, and rebooted successfully.
Wow!
