My Problem ;

I'm boot to computer from Debian sarge 3.1 cd with expret26 mode (kernel 2.6.8).

Sarge is too old .. it has no drivers for the "new" hardware.
I have the problem with another ASUS MB .. K8U-X .. no ethernet and no hd !!
My suggestion .. try Suse or Fedora .. or even Mandriva :-((

Hi rleoman, you would do well to google that motherboard model for its specs. With that info you can find out what driver or module that Marvell ethernet device will need as well as the video and sound card,not to mention what controller is used for the sata drives. The more you know about your hw the better,including what are monitor specs and type of mouse and internet or network connection.
For debian install sid netinstaller with 2.6.14x kernel would be better,or kanotix-2005-04 live-cd with best hardware detection around,or SimplyMepis. Latest Mandriva, Suse and Fedora may work too. Google linux os on your pc or lappy model for start. Maybe someone put install notes on web for your kit. Good luck.
