Debian incorrect RAM Memory display

Had to upgrade kernel to 2.6.26-2-686

I have this issue, with Lenny 2.6.26-2-486, that the Gnome 2.22.3 System Monitor displays only 885.0 MiB of the total 2048 memory I have installed on my system.

Any ways to fix this issue?

(And sorry, if this should go to Hardware?)

Sounds like you had the wrong kernel for your processor.

I'm betting that AlucardZero is right: your problem is the -486 kernel. (It's the only Debian kernel without SMP support. Nearly nobody would actually want it anymore, assuming your hardware isn't quite old.) Install the -686 kernel, and you should be good to go.
