debian autostart question (rc*)
Hello
I installed debian 3.0r4. But one problem - I can't get how debian manage autostart. In gentoo there were nice utility 'etc-update', are there any analog in debian? For example, my debian autostarts XDM, but I want to prevent it. I found S**xdm files in rc1, rc2, etc. So I must delete all these files? and again, if I want to autorun XDM, I must create symlinks? Are there any other easier way to manage autostart? Thanks |
No, you don't need to delete them. Manually, you could rename them so their name begins with something else than "S" (for example "s").
But it's easier to use 'update-rc.d'. Take a look at the man pages for it. |
