How do you want to connect, and what do you want to do?
ssh,vnc....
Does the firewall from your company allows these protocols outgoing?
Does your provider allows these protocols incoming ?

Install ssh on the server

Install apache on the server

download my programs
install a ftp server

However, if you use a router at home, you need to forward the ports to the server, and open the ports on the firewall of the server

Take a look at

Looks OK, give it a try and if you have a problem, come back to LQ for a solution.

Good luck

And just be aware that once you open a port to the outside world someone will find it - and your computer. If you are prepared for the security issues, well and good. If not, make sure you have backups before you open this port, and then start learning about linux netserver security.

Hi,

I would suggest to start a new thread for this problem, so more people can answer.
