[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
Hello

I had install in my computer the slackware 13 with dual boot with windows xp.And i decide to remove slackware and install debian testing. In the installation part (remove slackware-install debian) everything was fine.Until i reboot the pc and there an error came out.Grub error 17.With supergrubdisk i have manage to make the grub to be able to load windows xp.But not debian.I tried from live cds to fix it but the partition of debian is ext4 and i can't mount it...Please help me.

If your using grub installed by debian there is a good chance it hasn't been patched to boot an ext4 partition.

Try to "convert" the ext4 into ext3. I understand ext4 is backwards compatable with ext3, it only misses specific ext4 features. However, given it's a new install you might be better off by re-installing Debian on an ext3 partition. You did make a separate partition for your /home directory, haven't you? :-\
