Debian and Enlightenment?

Does anyone use Enlightenment DR17 (CVS Enlightenment v16.999) on Debian? How does it work? Was it easy to get running?

Thanks

Debian and Enlightenment

I'm using Debian Sarge here and have it running perfectly...
Try http://enlightenment.freedesktop.org/
Here you will find the steps you should take, what libraries to install first, etc
Case you have any questions visit http://www.get-e.org
I really recomend it.. Its till under development, but it works pretty fine..
If you have any questions compiling it, visit #e on irc.freenode.net
Good luck!

Thanks for the links, I did get an error ./configuring eet about zlib.h... I asked about it in #debian but they all scolded me for installing something without apt-get.

I heard some rumors of E17 deb binary files. Anyone know of this?

Are there any HOWTOs with E17 and Debian?

How did you install it?

Thanks

Hmm... I tried following the get-e.org manual but I got some unexplained compilation errors when compiling some of the libs. I tried asking in #e but it was very quiet. Are there any other good places to asked DR17 related questions?

Hmm, this seems like it should work for debian just fine. I haven't tried it, but "usually" if it works in ubuntu it will also work in debian.

1. Create a file named /etc/apt/preferences.
Place this text in the file and save:

Package: *
Pin: origin soulmachine.net
Pin-Priority: 999

2. Add this repository to your /etc/apt/sources.list

deb http://soulmachine.net/debian unstable/

3. Open Synaptic, reload sources, and install the enlightenment CVS.
