Debian-501-live on usb/persistent BUG with fedora 11 ext4, is it fixable?

OK
I was trying to run deb 501 live off my usb
with "persistent" enabled and a partition on my usb ext3
labeled as "live-rw"

When booting, initramfs pops up saying
"can't mount /dev/hda4 something about "204" error"

anyway, that's fedora's ext4 partition!

why is deb trying to mount there anyway?

it should be setting up "live-rw" partition?!

Should I submit this as a bug?

Does anyone here run Debian Live persistent from ext3 usb??
thanks
