Debian 4.0 - postgresql - initdb configuration

I have start using PostgreSQL from Debian 3.0. In good old times, when apt -ing the server it is show a dialog, and allow me to choose a place for database - I prefer to use different partition(s). But now no dialog at all.
I have tried to change priority to "low", method to dialog but nothing is change. It is always goes quickly to the default place /var...
How to change this behavior or work around?
Is it bug?

Two solutions.
Dirty:
Stop server, move /var/lib/postgresql to apropriate place and overwrite symlink at
/etc/postgresql/7.4/main/pgdata

Clean:
Use installation scripts, stop server and:
#pg_dropcluster 7.4 main --stop
#pg_createcluster 7.4 main --start -d /my/directory
That's all;o)
