Debian 3.0r2 sparc scsi 1024 cylinder limit

Hello,

Not sure if I should be posting in the "> Forums > Linux - Distributions > Debian".

Anyway, I face the 1024 cylinder limit on my sparc/station 20 with Debian 3.0r2 for sparc on a 2 gigs scsi hard disk with Silo.
-Can i make a symbolic link in my / wich is on the /dev/sda1 to the /boot that is on my /dev/sda3.
-Should I edit my partition and make a /boot on the before the / partition (25 megs for the /boot)
-Does anyone have any idea to help me correct this problem ?

You can, but it don't think it'll work properly with SILO. I always just configure silo with the correct kernel names in /boot.

Yes, that would ensure that it's below the cylinder limit.
