Creating a shortcut to an executable in Debian 5

Hi, basically we're using an SSH library for our server application that doesn't have a context, so it has no navigation.

Basically you can't cd into directories. Therefore, I'd like to hear if it is possible to create a shortcut to an executable.

/mta is the default directory.
/mta1
/mta2
/mta3 etc. are the directories with the executables.

I'd like to create a shortcut of some kind in /mta, that would lead into /mtaX.

Is this possible with a simple script?

Best regards,
