couldn't find package kernel-source-2.6.12
Hi!
I'm trying to re-compile my kernel to disable support for nvidia Riva cards. (if said support is enabled the nvidia driver for my GeForce card will not install). Aside from the fact that riva support is enabled, I love the 2.6.12-1-686-smp kernel that came with the NetInstall. I've tried compiling from scratch using 2.6.15, but a number of things didn't work right, so I decided to use the same exact settings as are used in the stock kernel. I read that I can use the config file found in /boot to load the settings used in the stock kernel, but I'm having difficulty getting the kernel source package. I tried following the instructions at http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=206992 but when I run Code:
apt-get -t unstable install kernel-source-2.6.12 kernel-patch-debianlogo Thanks to anyone w/suggestions. (as long as they don't suggest I simply give up on linux :-) |
The name changed some time ago to linux-source-2.6.x

That worked perfectly!
Thanks a million!! |
