Could not connect to wicd's D-Bus interface. wheezy/gnome

I get this error more than half the time on one of my laptops. It doesn't happen on the other laptop.

First off, I have my computer set to log me in as my regular user automatically. I used to use the computer with that option disabled, So for a long time I would log in always when I used the computer. Recently I changed that.

What happens is I boot up the computer and I get a dialog box for opening the default keyring. I type in the keyring password and the dialog box goes away, BUT I get this message immediately.

Code:
Could not connect to wicd's D-Bus interface. Check the wicd log for error messages.
Wicd won't open up from the status bar icon, and if I open wicd from the Applications/Internet menu (which I can do) changes that I make to my internet connection (like connect to a new wireless network) are not reflected in the status bar.

When I go to the error log ('/var/log/wicd/wicd.log') there's no information about D-bus interfaces. If I set my laptop to go to gdm3 on startup (or regular gdm for that matter) I have no problem.

What's the use of setting your computer to log in automatically if the default keyring must be opened every time? Also, maybe more importantly, why does wicd fail?
