Converting i386 system to AMD64

I installed a Kanotix (i386) based distro on my AMD64 laptop. Everything works fine except the wlan. Is it possible to convert the i386 system to AMD64? and how? Thanks.

Install AMD64 from scratch.

You are dealing with two completely different OSes here ... There is no upgrade/downgrade path.

I seriously doubt that switching from i386 to AMD64 will by itself do anything for your wireless. You are much better off searching for solutions for whatever specific driver and router-side encryption you have first - before you reinstall.

Thanks. Yes, I found the solution. I installed kernel 2.6.23.16 and ndiswrapper 1.52 and every thing works fine now.
