Conky. Adding weather forecast. Recommendations?

Hello!

I've just installed Conky in Debian 5 Lenny. After reading different posts and also after googling a lot, I've written my .conkyrc file.

Now, I would like to add a Weather Forecast to it. Yes, there are lots of information if you do a google search but I would like an updated version of it running properly on a Debian system. My location is: ARBA0009 (Buenos Aires, Argentina).

I am a bit confused so I will really appreciate if you could show me the scripts needed and also the steps I should follow to add weather forecast to my .conkyrc. Any recommendation will also be welcome.

By the way and trying to find out if you do it the same way I do What did you do to autostart conky when you start your computer?

My .conkyrc file is as follows:

Quote:

I use Accuweather's rss feed for my location. Make yours here
http://www.accuweather.com/rss-center.asp

And I start it through xfce's startup applications.

How can I display rss at startup in Gnome? I would like to have the weather displayed on the screen all the time.

Thanks for your help!

I have this line inside my .conkyrc
Code:
${rss http://rss.accuweather.com/rss/liveweather_rss.asp?metric=1&locCode=EUR|GR|GR038|VOLOS 300 item_titles 1}
and it gets me this on conky.

For future day forecasts you have to play around with grep and curl etc, because the other days do not appear as rss headers.

I know its not big deal but I like it.

To start conky on gnome startup go to System > Preferences > Sessions and make a new entry for it.
