Conflict (stable/unstable) regarding 3.1_r0a ISO

Hi all,

Earlier this month, I downloaded DVD ISOs of binary-1 and -2 for Sarge stable... or so I thought. I got them from here:

http://mirror.switch.ch/ftp/mirror/d.../i386/iso-dvd/

which is linked from here:
http://www.debian.org/CD/http-ftp/

... as being Sarge stable. The md5s were correct, and the installation went fine. However, after installing and adding the second disk using apt-cdrom, I find the following two entries in my sources.lst file:

deb cdrom:[Debian GNU/Linux 3.1 r0a _Sarge_ - Official i386 Binary-2 (20050607)]/ unstable contrib main
deb cdrom:[Debian GNU/Linux 3.1 r0a _Sarge_ - Official i386 Binary-1 (20050607)]/ unstable contrib main

I don't get it. Why would the DVD resources be listed as unstable? Their date of creation (both files) is given as June 8, 2005, two days after the release of Sarge stable. Now I'm paranoid...

I've sent an inquiry to Switch, but I thought I would ask here as well, since they may take a few days to respond, and may not be able to answer satisfactorily.

Thanks

I'm not quite sure I follow you, but in the meantime here's what happened. The SWITCH folks wrote back and said don't trust what the sources.lst says, check for yourself what package versions you have against the Debian package listings. So I checked libc6, gimp, apt, etc. and verified that I do indeed have stable, as I thought. I haven't changed the cdrom entries in sources.lst, and it does know that it can get stable packages from there, despite the unstable tag. Weird. So I just leave it there, but most of the packages get downloaded from the Net anyway. On my work machine especially, there I did comment out the cdrom source as the net connection is faster than the cdrom anyway, especially with spin-up time.
