Configure Linux l2tp client for vpn

Hello,

I try to use instructions from http://www.jacco2.dds.nl/networking/linux-l2tp.html. I wonder if there is updated information how to configure Linux l2tp client to use for vpn. Ideally, instructions for Debian.

thanks.
