Compiling a kernel + patch [2.6.33.1-rt11]

Hey guys,

I'm trying to compile a different kernel on my debian 6.0.3. I'm following this guide for debian etch (http://www.howtoforge.com/kernel_com...on_debian_etch), but I get an error after: "fakeroot make-kpkg --initrd --append-to-version=-custom kernel_image kernel_headers" command:

Code:

Any ideas why?

Thanks.

What kernel are you starting with? If you are patching a kernel the article says you need the base kernel source so you would start with 2.6.32 not 2.6.32-xx where xx is another number showing another version of the 2.6.32 kernel newer than the original.

Hi there that link you mentioned is a bit outdated Last edited 06/01/2007, would be better to follow the guides from Debian forum.

Lol. I was patching linux-2.6.33.1 with the rt patch. I will try patching linux-2.6.32 and I'll post in this thread. Thanks.

Hmm. Ok. Got the same (or similar) errors with kernels: 2.6.33 & 2.6.32. The one I originally used was 2.6.33.1
