Change My Source Repos

I just installed Debian Linux (Wheezy / Testing) for the first time in a year. Generally I just run my servers on Debian since it's extremely light weight and very solid / dependable. That being said, I'm in a new position and my Windows 7 box is scheduled to be picked up this morning. Not that I mind however in it's place I'm being dropped off a new Dell PC with two identical internal drives and a Debian bootable ISO. The OS is very simple for me to install however I'm curious since this is not my desktop O.S. rather than a dedicated server, should I change my source.list file for any reason? Currently it's at:

Code:

root@pc:~# cat /etc/apt/sources.list
deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ wheezy main
deb-src http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/ wheezy main

deb http://security.debian.org/ wheezy/updates main
deb-src http://security.debian.org/ wheezy/updates main

Should I change this to get a better "Desktop" experience? I'm not trying to find a particular piece of software that isn't offered by a particular channel yet but just wanted recommendations.

Debian does not have different repositories for desktop and server systems, so nothing to change for you.

Not knowing what you want in a desktop experience it is hard to say what you want.

If you want the packages for media that Debian does not support then you may want;
Code:

deb http://www.deb-multimedia.org wheezy main non-free
deb-src http://www.deb-multimedia.org wheezy main non-free

Then again you may not.

One thing you may not be aware of is that you may also need the package;
Code:

firmware-linux-nonfree
without that my box will not boot to the desktop.

This is an older DEll so you may need that.

Happy to hear that MS is being replaced for you. I have a great fondness, myself, for MS. If they had not released Vista I could still be using their products. Now my wife and I do not allow their products in the house (have one friend with a MS phone that has learned to leave it in the car).

As another member here has in the sig "if it is not in the repo you don't need it or it doesn't exist".
