CD-drive won't display ISO-8859-1 characters
When I installed Debian I believe I selected North America as the region - I bought my computer there. However, I want to be able to use filenames with ISO-8859-1 (Wester Europe) characters, specifically едц.
In the kernel configuration, I have specified Joilet as a CD-rom filesystem For the Native Language Support I have ISO-8859-1 as a module (I also have some other, including codepage 850 and the US related options) and as the default NLS. Still, the characters едц (å ä and ö) are not shown properly. What do I need to do or enable to get the full ISO-8859-1 support on my CD-drive? /TLV |
Problem soved. Exactly how, I don't know. What I did was:
- A couple of days ago I installed the locales I wanted. That didn't help. - Today I did an upgrade. Suddenly it works. Strange. /TLV |
