can't install knoppix 6.2

Hi,
I tryed to install the new knoppix 6.2, on HD. but it didn't appropriate partition ??
It exists here is the gparted gives

sda1 fat32
sda2 reiserfs 10 GB
sda3 ext3 14 GB
sda5 swap 2 GB
sda6 ext4 19 GB

All requirements are there, as given in the installer program

Um...what computer are you trying to install Knoppix to?
ram,etc

you didnt use "toram" at boot did you?

i had the same problem yesterday and finally let the installer do it automatic.

did you let the installer take the whole disk or just a partition?

sorry.
i ran install to hard-disk from the menu. there have been several options: 4.

i tried all of them, including running gparted, and finally let him take the whole hard-disk.
it was not an easy decision as i just had configured the allready installed OS.

im still wondering why the other options dont work.i never had such a problem.
another problem i had: after installing it it still was in the manner of a live-cd:
-autologin
-the live-cd user called knoppix
-some other things i forgot

you got experience with installing knoppix? It was the lxde-version with only a few apps and compiz up and running, but i completely screwed it when upgrading...Its great as a live for me, but i never really get it on my hard-disk.
so if you got some tips how to move around those problems, im all ears.

Meaning it did not "install" to hd like Ubuntu,etc?

Did it just put the KNOPPIX folder,etc on hd?

and then you tried upgrading via synaptic?
and upgrade didnt work?

I put it on USB so far with a few issues

-it didnt install like any OS i know.
-i dont know how exactly the knopix installer does work, if it puts folders from here to there or what.
-i upgraded with synaptic, it didnt work. afterwards compiz was gone, themes were removed, etc. and i had a ton of error-messages. i did the usual troubleshooting, finally, after 1 hour, i had no internet no more. i did never upgrade with synaptic and will never do it again.

putting it on a stick might be an idea.

I can see putting it on a usb drive/flash drive, but why anyone would want to install it to a hard drive has never made any sense. Knoppix has always been designed and built as a LiveCD.

for me the answer is easy:
it came with a only a few apps and compiz and sound were running out of box. i like compiz, i dont like troubleshooting, so i have thought i would just install it and be done with it.
your quote has cleared the problems up.

on another note: putting virtualbox on a live-cd is a bit, say, unusual. for me, might be others can find a use for it.

if i would have read before i would have spared me that kinda trouble...
