Hi,
# cat /etc/hosts
127.0.0.1 debian localhost
# The following lines are desirable for IPv6 capable hosts
# (added automatically by netbase upgrade)
::1 ip6-localhost ip6-loopback
fe00::0 ip6-localnet
ff00::0 ip6-mcastprefix
ff02::1 ip6-allnodes
ff02::2 ip6-allrouters
ff02::3 ip6-allhosts
Also I have not altered this file manually.
What I can recall is as follows;
Aftter installing Debian (this box) from website. KDE 3.1 worked without probem. Gnome can't start. A few days ago I ran
- dselect update
- dselect select
(I did not make any selection, just pressing 'Q' to quit)
- dselect install
(/etc/apt/sources.list all pointing to 'unstable')
After rebooting the PC. GNOME 2.4 worked. Then I continued to setup/config the Debian box including installing new packages. Both KDE and GNOME were working normally. Day before Yesterday I tried to install 'Netscape';
- dselect update
- dselect install netscape
I became the present situation. KDE can't start. Gnome is working without problem.
