I am using Debian Etch(Lenny), and I just downloaded some mp3 files. I can't find where it stored them. I tried /Desktop, /Desktop/Downloads, and /tmp.
You said 'I can't find where it stored them'. You haven't said what 'it' is. Normally, when an application allows you to save a file, it provides a dialog that allows you to specify the destination directory. Go back to the application and see what that directory is. Failing that, download another file, and then quickly do
Code:
find $HOME -name "*.mp3" -cmin -2 -print
This should find any file named "*.mp3" newer than 2 minutes anywhere in your home directory tree. The full directory name will be included in the found file name. You will probably find all of the others there, too.
Thanks for the quick responses. I an using wget. I realize my mistake. I used a left click on the download file, instead of a right . With the right I can specify its storage location.
Okay, whatever you say. I really don't get where left/right clicking comes into play with a text-mode application, but if it is working for you, that's good. I expect we'll be seeing more Q's from you in the future.
