Can't change Mouse resolution in Debian 4.0
Ok, I'm a slackware guru for the most part, but I decided to use Debian for a particular purpose on one of my machines. Here are the details.
Debian 4.0 Kernel 2.6.18-4-686 Dell Inspiron 8600 Laptop Integrated Touch pad. Basic Installation Not too many frills. Running off a USB drive... USB boot with GRUB. Running default GNOME My problem is: I can't get the mouse resolution to change. I played with all the settings available in the GUI,but it still takes 10, yes 10, full strokes to cross the screen. What can I do to fix this? Thanks for any help. :-) |
Edit /etc/X11/xrog.conf and in the mouse configuration section add a line
Option "Resolution" "1000" You can play around with this number. You must restart the X server if you modify the value. |
I trust you meant "/etc/X11/xorg.conf" not "/etc/X11/xrog.conf". ;)

It's ok, I understood what he meant.
It didn't work.... There is a file under /home/(user)/.gconf/desktop/gnome/peripherals/mouse/%gconf.xml It looks like what I need to edit, but I'm not sure how it works. |
