boot from software raid0 with debian

I have:

kernel 2.6
/dev/hda7 and /dev/hdc7 as /dev/md0 (raid 0) for /
/dev/hda1 for /boot
grub

How can I configure grub that it loads the kernel from /dev/hda1 and boot the system from /dev/md0?
Or is this impossible?
I found lots of how-tos that work for raid 1, because /dev/md0 is available for grub as (hd?,?), but with raid 0, /dev/md0 isnīt available for grub.

thanks for help

Code:
root (hd0,0)
kernel (hd0,0)/<kernel-image> root=/dev/md0
initrd (hd0,0)/<initrd-image> <--- only use this line if you are using initrd (default kernels do)
boot
Replace the stuff in <> with the actual filenames.

I'm telling you this without hardware to test it on but it should work.

Sorry for answering that late, but it took me some time to get it working.
I had to disable the initrd (and compile a new kernel with the drivers in it) to let it boot correctly - I donīt know why, but now it works.
Thank you for your help with grub!
