Boot Debian 3.0r1 winh 2.4 kernel on alpha?
Hello! I currently try to install Debian 3.0r1 on an Alpha system from a CD-Rom. I followed the installation manual and started the installation with "boot dka100 -flags 0". This works fine but it installs a 2.2 Kernel :-/
Is there a way to directly install a 2.4 kernel like on the i386 architecture? (boot: bf2.4) |
well, here goes a wild guess...
i'm on one of the lucky bf24 i386's and have never even seen (i think) an alpha, but have you done the F2 or whatever to see the other boot options? beyond that, man i'm spent for now... sorry Minuteman. |
On alpha, you don't have the opportunity to enter parameters at boot, so what I did is to instal lthe 2.2 kernel and upgrade it directly after the installation to 2.4.
