Best download set?

I'm really, really new to Linux, and have been running Redhat 9 up to this point (which is only a few months).

I've been asked to install Debian on a system, and as I look around there are 6-7 iso images, whereas RH only had 3. I understand that different distros differ in size - but 4 more CD's for debian?

Can anyone recommend a good link to what I need for a base install of Debian?

Thanks much.

Knoppix is one of the easiest to get up and running with. I believe it is www.knoppix.org. It boots from CD, and then you run a command in a root window (should be on the site docs) to install to HD. You should have a fully functional system in <30 mins.

To install Debian, all you really need is CD1. The whole system can be installed from the internet. If you really want to only use the cds, I think that cd1-3 are needed.
