Audio drivers for SPDIF

Hi,

I'm trying to get my SPDIF out to my HT Receiver and had an issue enableing it, so I tryed to install Nforce 4 drivers from nvidia and audio would not work all from any output. Should i attempt to use the Realtek drivers from asus for my A8N-E Board? Or is there some configuration im missing?

Thanks,

Did you install the nVidia drivers successfully? I've never been able to successfully compile sound-card drivers.

What version of Debian are you using? Have you checked ALSA support for your card?

I doubt I can help, but I was long frustrated with my own sound support, so I'm at least sympathetic.

when i attempt to install the nvidia nforce driver it says it installs fine, but then never works. I'm using Debian Unstable AMD64 it was just installed about a month ago.
I attempted the Realtek driver and it failed. Don't really know what the issue is. Alsa should support AC'97 for spdif im pretty sure. I'll look into it some more.

Thanks for the input,
