ATI mobile 9200 / mesa/tungsten OPENGL no go
Hi there,
I'm trying to get compiz and an EVE online game client working on my notebook... When I do a glxinfo : direct rendering: Yes OpenGL vendor string: Tungsten Graphics, Inc. OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI R200 20060602 AGP 1x x86/MMX/SSE2 TCL People on another forum told me : if glxinfo shows MESA/TUNGSTEN you need the ati binary drivers... They gave me a link with an app named ENVY It's not working out for me envy, gives all kind of dependency errors about python2.5, even when python 2.5 is installed etc... Also read on this forum envy is for technically handicapped people :p I'm not tech. handicapped, so can anyway point me to a guide on how to install my video card driver the debian way or the source way ? thx |
This is how I did it. I would recommend using the second method. Hope it helps.
