Aptitude wants to remove KDE
When I run the following commands to check for updates aptitude tells me it will remove KDE and all related packages.
sudo aptitude update && sudo aptitude -y -s dist-upgrade If I use apt-get I don't get the message. Apparently something in aptitude is confused. How can I fix it? Kent |
Don't mix aptitude and apt-get... Use either, but not both. If you want to change to aptitude for your (daily? ;-)) maintainance, do a aptitude keep-all before any upgrade commands.

oxieyk as Dutch Master said it's better not to mix it. I only use apt-get to avoid removal of packages aptitude think I don't need no more...

I do use aptitude. The problems just started yesterday. I only tried apt-get to see if it gives the same message. Apparently something in aptitude is confused. How can I fix it?
