Apt Wants To Remove Wanted Apps?!
Ok - so I normally always remove "gnome-games" using apt.
# apt-get remove --purge gnome-games Ever since I have done this, I am now getting the following message when I use APT-GET: "The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required: libsdl1.2debian libsdl1.2debian-alsa gcalctool gnome-nettool bind9-host libavahi-compat-howl0 libdjvulibre15 libperl5.8 iso-codes gucharmap industrial-cursor-theme zenity libosp5 dnsutils libsvga1 esound libexchange-storage1.2-3 unzip gnome-cards-data w3c-dtd-xhtml gedit libdns32 libpisock9 gnome-themes whois xulrunner-gnome-support libgpod2 pidgin-data libisccc30 system-tools-backends gtkhtml3.14 guile-1.6-libs gedit-common libdmx1 libgnome-pilot2 finger libmusicbrainz4c2a fast-user-switch-applet liblwres30 gnome-volume-manager libkpathsea4 libpt-plugins-v4l gdb eog gdm gnome-backgrounds bug-buddy libnm-glib0 libdirectfb-0.9-25 vino gnome-keyring-manager libbind9-30 evince libqthreads-12 libbluetooth2 gnome-games-data libgnomevfs2-bin libisccfg30 zip gnome-core libpt-plugins-alsa svgalibg1 libopal-2.2.0 gconf-editor gnome-system-tools libisc32 totem libpt-1.10.0 libguile-ltdl-1 libgtkhtml3.14-19 file-roller libpoppler-glib1 sound-juicer libpisync0 Use 'apt-get autoremove' to remove them." If I do this, I lose my window manager and many apps I normally use so basically I lose all GUI function of my PC which sucks. Anyone know how to resolve this problem? |
don't run autoremove.

Looks like a dependency has gone a little wrong somewhere, you could wait for Sid to fix itself, or if desperate, apt-get install {any package you want to keep}. This will mark the package manually installed, and it will no longer appear in autoremove's crosshairs.

I still think just not running it would solve the problem rather nicely...

TC, whenever you run apt-get with *anything*, or are you actually running apt-get autoremove? |
