apt question -- how do I back out of an upgrade..
I was looking at currently available updates. apt-listbugs listed a pretty serious issue with the kernel update I meant to cancel out of the update process but bumped the enter key by accident. I immediateyl hit Ctrl-c to stop the upgrade from taking place but the system had already mad e afew change rather rapidly I might add..
Now it wants me to do a 'dpkg --configure -a' before I can do anything else with the package management system... What options do I have at this point ? any suggestions ? Code:

I'm using that kernel, and my system boots fine. This is not necessarily my recommendation to you, but if it was me, I would run the reconfigure command, let it update, then use "remove --purge to get rid of the kernel before you reboot.
If you're using aptitude as opposed to apt-get, it handles remove commands very well. |
Searched the Bug list for this and this bug was re-assigned to mdadm and since I'm not running any raid devices on this system I guess I don't have to worry about this particular issue..
went ahead with the dpkg recommendation, it looks good so far. |
