apt-get update error msg [SOLVED]

Hi all,

Im currently trying to update my Debian Etch, but it gives me the following error message:

Code:
Reading package lists... Done
W: GPG error: http://ftp.nl.debian.org testing Release: The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY
W: You may want to run apt-get update to correct these problems
Is the server just down or?

Sincerely, Jorgen

Well I found a solutions to this problem.

Looks like my apt-get got upgraded last time I did a apt-get dist-upgrade.

Here is the solution:

'Version 0.6 of the apt tools began support for signing of the Release file to ensure integrity of the archive. You might get the following from an update command':

Code:
# gpg --keyserver keyring.debian.org --recv 07DC563D1F41B907
then:

Code:
# gpg --armor --export 1F41B907 | apt-key add -
That solved the problem

Yep. Lot's of people had this problem come start of this year. Apt was trying to verify with the old 2005 keys or something like that.

We probably did the same thing in two different ways. I fixed mine like this (running as root):

# wget http://ftp-master.debian.org/ziyi_key_2006.asc -O - | apt-key add -
# apt-get update
