APT-GET Results = Strange


Has anyone noticed these .pdiff's when using APT-GET? Can anyone explain this to me? I have never seen them before.

Looks like a more efficient way to download package lists. I haven't actually booted debian in a while so I haven't noticed it. I imagine the pdiffs provide the differences between package lists, kinda like a patch, rather than downloading the newer package lists whole (this for me would be about 10 Mb). Which is alot less to download, better for us and the debian servers.

the pdiff's show up if i've added a new repo and not retreived the public key for it yet. odd.
