...and what you have in post #33 is your entire sources.list file?

No guess. I copied your Post #33 into /etc/apt/sources.list, and it updated fine.

I think it may have something to do with our proxy here. I think when it is contacting the debian pages it does not have a username/password to pass through the server. That is my only guess.

I figured it out I had to go and edit /etc/bash.bashrc and add my username and password at the end for my proxy server. Thanks for all the help guys.
