apt-get dist-upgrade and Synaptic "smart upgrade" show different results
Which is safer? I've been upgrading via Synaptic, but recently a problem of upgrading KDE seemed unsolvable using Synaptic (where it kept saying missing KDE libs and wanted to remove quanta plus and ignore all the KDE related packages for upgrade) seems to be different in apt-get dist-upgrade which doesn't want to remove anything related to KDE but actually shows all KDE packages as marked for upgrade.
So will this potential conflict lead to any issues if I run apt-get dist-upgrade now?
