apt-ger and java for debain sid

hello all

i have upgraded woody to sid 'unstable' this was done by the apt-get command which is by the looks of it a very powrefull tools for debain. i then started to look at the apt-get for java to aid the brower. i found a soures for java at deb http://www.mirror.ac.uk/sites/ftp.bl...-linux/debian/ unstable main non-free .This link came from http://www.mick.a4dableweb.com/ to install j2sdk1.3 .I have upto now had no luck in geting java to work. this is one of the path i have tryed /usr/lib/j2se/1.3/bin/java for Konqueror. So as any got the apt-get to work for java in sid. I have down loaded the j2re-1.4.2 .bin from sun. so if i can not get the apt-get method to work i will install the usual way. this seem a step back if it to install by .bin

Look in my .signature at apt-get.org for Unstable java packages. Go to the search page. If you have issues with English please predicate your posts with that information; otherwise people will give you grief over the terribly spelled post.

Explain whether or not java applets via the web are not working or you are unable to compile and run java programs from the command line.

http://apt-get.org/search.php?query=...arch%5B%5D=all

Precisely WHAT are you having issue with?

Sorry for the spelling, i am a dyslectic learner. I will in the future try to get to post spell ed better. The problem I am having is that the java applets via the web are not working. I have apt-get j2sdk1.3 from
deb http://www.mirror.ac.uk/sites/ftp.b...a-linux/debian/ unstable main non-free and also tryed j2re-1.3 I have set the path in Konqueror, java & scripts to /usr/lib/j2se/1.3/bin/java .I just need the java for browing the web so the j2re would be OK for me, I have tyred the j2sdk to see if it would work. I am new to linux so this make things more difficult.

thanks
