This appears on their website.

In short: we plan to have a well stable, production ready fork of Debian in place about the time Jessie will come out: we will keep everything intact, just avoid systemd and its overwhelming web of dependencies.
Does this answer your question?

I think it would be more like mid year for release 1.0.

Any further information available on a release? I've been checking weekly on their website but can't seem to find any new information.

Wise beyond your years. Thank you for the incredibly insightful response... let's not clutter the thread with nonsense. It's been roughly 6 months since the last post and the devuan.org website hasn't been updated recently. I found this thread on Google and simply posted a request for an update. If I wanted sarcastic or idiotic responses I would have asked my teenagers or their friends...

Keep reason, and civility in your for thoughts when posting responses.

Again head_on_a_stick I thank you for you input.

Hi Zaileion,

Most of Devuan's activity happens on the mailing list [0], development IRC channel [1], and git repository [2]. The website is basically the mission statement and donation page.

We just released our second alpha for our netinstall ISO yesterday (I have been asked not to share the link directly, but it's pretty easy to find). Also, antiX 15 beta 3 is now based on Devuan [3], if you wanted something easier to take for a spin.

Hope this helps!

Well worth a look, my favourite Linux distro, lightweight but full of features.

can you elaborate on this? I know the latest stable AntiX 14 is based on Wheezy, which is Systemd free. Is Devuan team collaborating with AntiX to provide the code base for the 15B3?

I'm concerning that Antix is going to 'Systemd' sooner or later since it's based on Debian stable.

Hi xiongnu,

I'm not sure of the exact degree of collaboration--I'm not involved on that side of the distro (my role is developing a udev replacement). However, I know from our IRC and mailing list that there was a big effort made recently to get the Devuan debootstrap system working, which is what the antiX developers needed.

We'd love to work more with them, as well as with any other distros who want to derive from or share code with Devuan. I know there's some cross-pollination going on between us, TRIOS, and Refracta, for example.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/anti...ing/antiX-14R/

AntiX 15beta3 is available for testing from the above link, it is using the Devuan bootstrap, &, I believe, will transition to Devuan once it is fully functional, so as to stay away from systemd.
