Annoying Ubuntu Update Manager?

Anyone else using Debian notice they have now integrated a Ubuntu badged "update manager" via Gnome? It looks like just a GUI for "apt-get upgrade" however I don't care for it and would like to remove these reminding features. Kind of reminds me of Windows Update annoying you every 5 minutes to download / reboot ...

System >> Administration >> Software Properties >> Internet Updates

Uncheck "Check for Updates automatically" checkbox. That is pretty much it. I fail too see why you would need to reboot after a system update... unless your kernel was updated. I found this a great feature for new users and to remind you of updates. And shouldn't this thread be on Ubuntu forums ratter then Debian's?
