Add application to alacarte


How I add an application to alacarte, to menu.

Normally it's just a matter of highlighting the category where you want the application to appear, selecting new entry and typing in the details. However, if you're running etch alacarte seems to be broken and doesn't save the settings. A way round this is to manually place a desktop file in /usr/share/applications/applicationname.desktop Just use one of the other files in there as a template
