Adaptec 29320 with HostRAID

My drives recently died and I need to reload Debian .... I have 2 new SCS320 Drives hooked up and HostRAID enabled (before I only had them in single drive configuration).

What I wanted to know before I started installing Debian is ...... Does Debian support HostRAID? Will it "see" my drives as one drive unlike fedora and such that see it as seperate drives?

Can someone point me in the right direction so that I can get Deb up and running? Has anyone been able to get this configuration working?

Thanks.

Adaptec HostRaid is software raid.
There is some binary drivers for RedHat/SuSe, no Debian.
No opensource drivers aviable.
If you need software raid, why not to use one bundled with kernel? Or maybe lvm?
Imho much more better solution is to buy "real" raid card, or not to use raid at all.

P.S.: Have the same problem with intel board ;;;(((

I've picked up this tgz and when I decompressed it, I realized that this is the same folder you can find in the kernel's source (2.4.27) tree (under drivers/scsi/aic7xxx). This code let you create the aic7xxx.o module, but not the a320raid.o one.

So I assume there is no driver when you enable HostRaid (needed module a320raid) with this card, is it correct?

I think that something is strange...
I have putted the floppy with the image from the adaptec site but during the installation , after that suse take from the floppy something, no module result in list (a320raid.o) ... so finally suse 10.1 with raid soft.
Hi...
