hi. i am running wheezy (7.11) in my netbook with mate as desktop environment. i would like to be able to see the smartphone's disk space when i connect it through usb. the smartphone is a Motorola Moto G 2014. Any ideas please?
If you have Android 6 then I think you have to allow the usb connection. Graphical file managers should either allow you to view disk and or show information/properties.
Do you have Android 6? Do you have a file manager that you like or can get one?
I'm not sure how it works with Mate; I use XFCE4. If I recall correctly, the feature of being able to browse smart phones mostly didn't work in Wheezy, but it does work in Jessie (Debian 8, the current stable release). I have used Moto G for this.
i did mkdir ~/android and then sudo jmtpfs android.
atux@netbook:~$ sudo jmtpfs android/
Device 0 (VID=22b8 and PID=2e82) is UNKNOWN.
Please report this VID/PID and the device model to the libmtp development team

atux@netbook:~$
i would like to automount it as user and see it in the mate-desktop file manager.
