A weird question about using internet

Hi,
recently, I have encounter a very strange problem, that is whenever I am using internet, (use internet browser or apt-get update), my debian lenny will frooze.

These problem has last about 3 days. In the morning, I though this problem may be caused by firestarter, so I deleted it, and I was able to use the internet again. However, at afternoon, when I turn on my computer again, the same problem occurs, that is when ever I use the internet, My computer will freeze.

Anyone has any idea about this problem?
Thanks you.

I don't have an answer, but there's no way that it should take a week to install Debian. How much RAM does your machine have? Is it possibly running out of resources? (This seems unlikely, frankly, but it's a stab in the dark.)

I have 1 G of ram.

THe reason that it may takes one week to install is because there is lots of configure that I need to do including Chinese fonts, Chinese inputs.

Oh, one person suggests me that the problem may caused by the ip address,
so does any one know how to change ip address?

I know I may find answer on the google, but just post it in case someone can give me a simple explanations.

Thanks

Problem solved.

I think it is either caused by my network card or the driver for it.

I solved this problem by changing to a new network card.
