Well
I just found a "bug"

If you make a root password, then try to login to root desktop
you get a blank screen!

You gotta log back in to user account, open Root PCMANFM, then
goto the /home/user folder and copy the jwm folder to /root
then login to root desktop

I forgot to put jwm folder in /root!

dummy!
I'll fix it

OK its for ready for download!

look for the new post Here at soft pedia
http://linux.softpedia.com/get/Syste...86-54010.shtml
and this thread for info!
I'm writing the additional info now!

This is the Greatest/Ultimate Debian Live Rescue Desktop-Beautiful Awesomest Linux LiveCD EVER!
Bar None!

My finest work thus far; 608MB iso, includes remastersys HDD installer and unetbootin USB installer
The awesomest aspect is the complete rebuild from source of the JWM desktop
it truly is DSL-esque but with the power of the lenny/squeeze repos!

EDIT!:
Very sorry;

username: user
password: live

username: root
password: not set
to create password, open root terminal and

Code:
passwd root
or passwd (username)

Install to HDD Remastersys Installer
Install to USB Unetbootin or manaully
to manually install to USB
simply mount iso, and copy contents
of iso to usb
Install syslinux to usb; you need to have syslinux 3.71+
for the boot menu to work

Download here; top one
http://multidistro.com/downloads/current/current.html

MD5SUM
http://multidistro.com/deb/JWM/newjw...iso.md5sum.txt

I'm gonna release both the JWM modified source, and the .deb for lenny/squeeze/9.04 buntu(doesnt work yet with 9.10)?
and show how easy it is to make a .deb for it as I only edited one text file to make this JWM desktop!
be right back

[QUOTE=linus72;3839136]Whoa!

Wait till (I?) you guys see this monster!

It's a monster . of that I am certain.

With an ugly head.

Why would anyone create a monster that cannot be used.

I say this because after it boots (From the Live CD) it asks for

Login ......

Password ..........

Nowhere on the Live CD is there a text file that gives
the user the answer to those requests.

Why have a Login and Password on a LiveCD anyway?

Never had this nonsense on any Ubuntu CD

And if it does not need either why will it no go past the
Login/Password screen.
Without supplying that information the system logs off

The system needs to be modified to eliminate this problem

For me, no NetorkManager, no show. I get into the net with a 3g mobile broadband, and the wicd does not support it.

Maybe it's not the case here, but I've noticed that many light distros, including some directed for laptops use to have wicd instead of NetworkManager, witch seems to be a mistake because being the laptops a portable machine they can only access the net from everywhere they are taken, in case they have a 3g dongle, and in this case the NetworkManager is also required.

Also, if one can choose from a software that does X and other that do X + Y, why not choose the last?
I think that the good guys at wicd, to compete with NetworkManager, need to extend support for these 3g dongles, as they're becoming very popular.
