32bit program in a 64bit program's world

Hi everyone. I'm trying to figure out how to set up my box such that I can run 32 bit programs as well as 64bit ones. Currently I've just got the 64bit setup. I've read websites and HOWTOs involving chroot and such but they aren't very newby friendly. Anyways, if anyone can help or point me in the direction of a friendly guide I would be very thankful lol.
