2 compilings at the same time

Hi
I am compiling a kernel now, and want to compile a c++ application I
just finished writing, is that ok?

Yeah, it'll work. But both tasks will each require more time to finish, compared to doing one task at a time. Unless you happen to have a dual-core proc and an smp enabled kernel that is I doubt you can/will notice any advantage timewise, if there is any...
